Men’s Cross Country Receiving Votes in National Poll

For the first time in the program's history, the Bradley men's cross country team is receiving votes in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national poll, released on Tuesday. The Braves collected 10 points in the poll and is the third-highest ranked program in the others receiving votes category.

The Braves have excelled on the national stage throughout the 2016 campaign. Last weekend, Bradley placed eighth of 41 schools at the Pre Nationals in Terre Haute, Indiana – finishing above two nationally-ranked schools and another three receiving votes. It marked the second time the Braves have topped multiple schools in the national poll this season as Bradley also defeated three ranked teams at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invitational on Sept. 30.

Bradley also moved up to fourth from seventh in the Midwest regional poll – trailing only Oklahoma State, Iowa State and Tulsa, who are ranked ninth, 13th and 22nd in the country, respectively. On the women's side, the Braves moved to a season-best 10th in the regional rankings, moving up three spots from 13th.

The cross country teams are now each preparing to defend their Missouri Valley Championships. The conference title is on the line in Cedar Falls, Iowa on Saturday, Oct. 29.
