PEORIA, Ill. – Senior forward Leti Lerma (Muscatine, Iowa/Muscatine) turned in a double-double to pace three Braves in double figures as she helped the Bradley women's basketball team to a 62-45 victory over Missouri-St. Louis Saturday at Renaissance Coliseum in the lone exhibition of 2016-17 for the Braves.

After a slow start, sophomore Vanessa Markert (Mt. Bradley stretched the lead to as many as 19 points in the second quarter at 32-13 nearing the three-minute mark and led 34-17 at the half.  The Braves held UMSL to 21.4 percent shooting in the first half and were led by Lerma's 10 points, six boards and one block in the opening 20 minutes.  Junior Danielle Brewer (Coatesville, Ind.) scored seven points during a 75-second span in the second to help Bradley extend the lead.

Markert opened the third quarter with a three-point play and went on to score eight of her 12 points on the day in the period.  Bradley held a 48-31 advantage heading into the fourth.  The Braves were able to stretch the lead to as many as 21 points in the fourth and went on to top the Tritons 62-45.
