PEORIA, Ill. -- First-year Bradley Volleyball head coach Carol Price-Torok received two commitments during the 2016 Fall Signing Period with 6-1 middle blocker Ezri Edwards (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington) signing a National Letter of Intent to attend Bradley in addition to adding San Jose State transfer Yavianliz Rosado (Morovis, Puerto Rico/Colegio Carmen Sol) to the 2017 roster.

Edwards was a two-time letterwinner for the Purple Raiders, helping her squad to back-to-back Big 12 Conference Championships her final two prep seasons and an IHSA Regional title as a junior.  This fall, she collected 82 blocks, including 20 solo blocks, and led Bloomington to a regional final appearance.

"Ezri is a very physical and dynamic athlete with the tools to play multiple positions," stated Price-Torok.  "Her work ethic and ability to adapt are going to make her successful in college.  We are very excited to have her in our gym.  She plays for a high level club that continues to push and give her the training we need, her upside is tremendous and she will help take our program to the next level."

A three-year member of Illini Elite, Edwards was an all-conference performer in addition to being selected as her team's most improved player.  In her two seasons, she helped the Purple Raiders to a 53-19 combined record, which included a 29-8 mark her junior year.  Edwards also lettered in basketball at Bloomington.

Rosado will have two years of eligibility remaining after transferring from San Jose State where she played in 2014 and 2015.  A 5-6 libero, she averaged 3.62 digs per set as a sophomore in 2015 to rank seventh in the Mountain West Conference and was third on the team in aces per set 0.22.  Rosado averaged 4.38 digs per set in conference play her sophomore season.

"Yavia is a transfer player that brings in great experience to our back court," said Price-Torok.  "She comes from a volleyball family, where her high level of playing experience will help elevate our program.  Her natural flow and volleyball I.Q. will make her teammates around her better.  She is a huge asset to our program on and off the court and we are looking forward to having her in the gym this spring."

As a freshman, Rosado's 425 digs ranks seventh among San Jose State season marks and her 3.94 digs per set that same season, which was third in the Mountain West, is eighth all-time among Spartan marks.  She collected 20 or more digs in six outings as a freshman and reached double figures in 21 of 31 contests in 2014.  Rosado played for the Puerto Rico U18 team and was named Best Libero at the 2012 Plaza Vea Cup (Peru).  Her father is a club volleyball coach in Puerto Rico and her sister Dalianliz is the libero for #2-ranked Minnesota, while her mom was a member of the Puerto Rico national softball team.

Bradley will open the final road trip of the 2016 season Friday with a 5 p.m. match at Drake.
