Sharbaugh, Pierce Join Bradley Basketball Staff

Duo to Assist Basketball Operations, Player Development and Video

PEORIA, IL – Second-year Bradley men's basketball head coach Brian Wardle announced two additions to his staff Thursday: Ryan Sharbaugh has joined the Braves as Director of Basketball Operations and Troy Pierce has been appointed to the new position of Coordinator of Player Development and Video Operations.

"I am excited to have Ryan and Troy join our staff and the Bradley family," said Wardle.  "Their roles are critical to our success.  Both of them have learned from winning and well-respected coaches.  I love their passion, work ethic and maturity.  I know they can help our program grow and keep us moving forward."
 
Sharbaugh comes to Bradley from Florida State, where he spent the last two seasons as a graduate assistant on Leonard Hamilton's Seminoles staff.  In 2015-16, Sharbaugh helped Florida State to a 20-14 record and the second round of the National Invitation Tournament and he had the opportunity to work with FSU's most-recent NBA Draft pick, Malik Beasely, who was selected 19th overall by the Denver Nuggets. . 
 
During his time in Tallahassee, FL, the Seminoles landed a pair of top-10 recruiting classes.  In addition to his administrative duties at FSU, Sharbaugh coordinated the Leonard Hamilton Basketball Camps.  Prior to Florida State, he spent two years as an assistant coach at Urbana University, where he helped mentor two all-conference performers. 
 
Sharbaugh was an assistant coach at West Virginia Wesleyan College during the 2011-12 school year, helping the Bobcats to NCAA Division II regional semifinal appearance and 22-9 record.  He got his start in coaching at the collegiate level during the 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons as a graduate assistant at California University (PA).  

A 2008 graduate of Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA, Sharbaugh has earned master's degrees from both California University (PA) and Florida State
 
Pierce joins the Braves after two years as a graduate assistant at Emporia State, where he recently completed work toward a master's in health, physical education and recreation.  A Kansas native, Pierce also is familiar with the Land of Lincoln, however, spending the 2013-14 season as an assistant coach at Illinois-Springfield. 
 
In addition to his coaching duties at Emporia State, Pierce handled team travel and had oversight of the team's video productions. 
 
A 2013 graduate of Emporia State, Pierce played for current Bradley assistant coach Mike Bargen at Butler Community College, where he served as team captain and helped the Grizzlies to 54 wins in his two seasons as a player from 2008-10.  Pierce began his coaching career at Emporia State as a student assistant in 2012-13 while finishing up work toward his degree.

TRANSACTIONS:  Bradley University names Ryan Sharbaugh Director of Basketball Operations and Troy Pierce Coordinator of Player Development and Video Operations.
