PEORIA, Ill. -- Four transfers and one freshman will help bolster a roster which returns seven from last year, with Bradley men's golf head coach Jeff Roche announcing the additions of Illinois Central transfer Ethan Brue (Chandlerville, Ill./AC Central/Illinois Central), freshman Charles Jahn (Sperry, Iowa/Mediapolis), Kentucky transfer Yuan "Leo" Li (Hainan China/Sarasota Christian School [FL]/Kentucky) and Illinois State transfers Michael Mounce (El Paso, Ill./El Paso-Gridley/Illinois State) and Branden Mounce (El Paso, Ill./El Paso-Gridley/Illinois State) to the 2016-17 roster.

Brue was a two-time NJCAA All-American at Illinois Central College, wrapping up his time with the Cougars with an eighth-place finish at the national championship this past spring.  He took 16th at nationals as a freshman and claimed a conference individual title that same year.  Brue, who was a two-time all-state selection in high school, posted a 73.5 scoring average in his two years at Illinois Central and owned a 72.5 stroke average his senior year of high school.

Jahn won a Class 2A sectional title and finished sixth at the Iowa Class 2A state championship as a senior.  A first-team all-state selection by the Des Moines Register, Jahn claimed individual conference and district titles his junior year and was ranked in the top in Class 2A in stroke average each of his final two prep seasons.  He was fourth at the Class 2A state championship as a junior.

The first international student-athlete since 2002-03 for the Bradley men's golf team, Li comes to The Hilltop after spending the 2015-16 school year at Kentucky.  He did not play any team events last year as a Wildcat and has four years of eligibility remaining.  At Sarasota Christian School, Li helped the Blazers to a ninth-place state finish and district title.  He won the China Amateur Golf Future tour title in 2013 and at one point was the top-ranked China junior.

Twin brothers Branden and Michael Mounce join the Braves after spending their freshman year at I-74 rival Illinois State.  The pair helped lead El Paso-Gridley to back-to-back state championships their final two prep seasons and a second-place state finish for the Titans as sophomores.

Branden is a three-time state championship qualifier and finished third at the state championship as a senior.  Last year, he played in two events and had a scoring average of 77.67 at Illinois State.  As a sophomore, Branden tied for 17th at the IHSA Class A state championship.

Michael played in nine rounds for the Redbirds last year, posting a 76.75 scoring average and finished 24th at the 2016 Missouri Valley Conference Championship in April.  The class valedictorian at El Paso-Gridley, Michael was an all-state performer as a senior following a fourth-place finish at the state championship.  He tied for 15th his junior year and tied for 23rd as sophomore at the IHSA Class 2A state championship.  Michael also lettered in basketball at the El Paso-Gridley, earning all-conference honors.

The Bradley men's golf team opens the 2016-17 season Sept. 6 & 7 at the Crusader Collegiate in Chesterton, Ind.
