30TH SEASON OPENER
Bradley will open its 30th NCAA Division I men's soccer season this weekend by visiting Spokane, WA for games Friday at Gonzaga and Sunday against San Diego State ... The Braves enter their 30th season with a 272-271-51 (.501) all-time record ... Bradley had won 13 straight season-openers before dropping a 2-0 decision last year at UIC and the Braves will be trying to avoid consecutive season-opening losses since a four-year drought in the program's first four years of existence from 1987-90 ... As he prepares for his 21st year as Bradley Soccer head coach, Jim DeRose is 18-2-0 all-time in season-openers.

THE SERIES NOTES
Bradley is 0-1 all-time against Gonzaga, dropping a 2-0 decision Oct. 2, 2015 at Shea Stadium and the Braves are facing San Diego State on the soccer field for the first time in program history ... This weekend's games at Gonzaga and versus San Diego State will be Bradley's first-ever games in the state of Washington.

VALLEY'S YOUNGEST ONCE AGAIN
After playing the 2015 season as the fourth-youngest team in NCAA Division I men's soccer, Bradley remains the youngest team in the Missouri Valley Conference in 2016 ... For the second straight year, Bradley's roster features the most freshmen of any team in The Valley ... Half of Bradley's 36-man roster is made up of freshmen - 11 true freshmen and seven redshirt freshman - and 75 percent (27-of-36) of the roster owns no more than one year of experience in the program with one transfer sophomore and eight second-year sophomores in the mix ... Bradley's 18 freshmen are three more than the combined totals of Valley rivals Evansville (7) and Loyola Chicago (8) and one more than the combined totals of Evansville either Central Arkansas (10), Missouri State (10) or SIU Edwardsville (10).

DANNY DAHLQUIST GAME RECAP
at Bradley 1, #9 Notre Dame 0 | Wednesday, Aug. 17 | Peoria, IL (Shea Stadium) | Box Score
The youngest team in the Missouri Valley Conference was unfazed by facing a nationally-ranked opponent in front of a large home crowd.  With a roster that includes 18 true and redshirt freshmen, Bradley upset #9 Notre Dame, 1-0, in front of 1,821 fans Aug. 17 in the eighth annual Danny Dahlquist Memorial Game at Shea Stadium.

Junior striker Richard Olson netted the game's lone goal, working the right flank on a Frank Bak through ball which had been played ahead by junior Grayson McGraw, for the game-winning tally in the 75th minute.

Olson's goal was Bradley's lone shot on goal.  Although Notre Dame finished with a 13-5 shots advantage, the Fighting Irish totalled just five shots on goal and senior keeper Logan Ketterer made all five saves for the clean sheet.
