Kicking Off 3-Game Road Swing at Mo State

Bradley Soccer will kick off a 3-game road swing Saturday night against its Valley rival.

SPRINGFIELD, MO - Bradley Soccer returns to Missouri Valley Conference action Saturday when the Braves (2-5-1, 0-1-0 MVC) visit Missouri State (3-2-1, 0-0-0 MVC) at Allison South Stadium.  The visit to Springfield will kick off a 3-game road swing for the Braves, who will visit Milwaukee Tuesday night and Western Michigan Oct. 1 in a pair of non-conference tilts.

THE TWO WINNINGEST
Saturday's game features the two winningest coaches in Missouri Valley Conference men's soccer history ... Missouri State's Jon Leamy enters the game with a 238-171-54 record with the Bears, while Bradley's Jim DeRose checks in with a 223-162-41 record in his 21 years at Bradley. 

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday's game will be the 34th meeting in the all-time series between the Braves and Bears and falls on the 28th anniversary of the first game in the series, a non-conference clash Sept. 24, 1988 at Peoria Notre Dame High School ... Missouri State won that first game, 2-0, and the Bears now claim a 20-9-4 lead in the all-time series ... Bradley has won two of the last three meetings and following up on last year's 4-0 win at Shea Stadium, the Braves are shooting for consecutive wins in the series for the first time since consecutive 1-0 victories in 2011 and 2012 ... Those two 1-0 wins have catapulted Bradley to four wins in the last six series meetings.

Bradley has scored seven goals in its first eight games and the scoring has come from seven different players ... The team's five assists also have come from five different players with the trio of Richard Olson, Jacob Taylor and Matt Perry each contributed both one goal and one assist to share the team lead with three points each.

Six of Bradley's first eight games have featured a shutout ... The Braves have posted two shutouts, but have been blanked four times ... The opener Aug. 26 at Gonzaga (1-1) and the Sept. 9 game versus Fort Wayne (4-3 loss) are the only two games in which both teams scored.

VALLEY ROAD STREAK
Bradley is unbeaten (2-0-1) in its last three MVC road games ... Bradley's last Valley road loss was a 1-0 setback at Missouri State Oct. 25, 2014 ... The current unbeaten Valley road streak is Bradley's longest since an 8-game ride (5-0-3) from 2005-07.
