SPRINGFIELD, MO - Emmerich Hoegg scored with 5:16 remaining, lifting host Missouri State (4-2-1, 1-0-0 MVC) to a 2-1 Missouri Valley Conference men's soccer victory against Bradley (2-6-1, 0-2-0 MVC) Saturday night at Allison South Stadium.

The loss snaps Bradley's 3-game Valley road unbeaten streak dating back to last season and keeps the Braves winless overall on the road this season and came with a bit of controversy.  Bradley was awarded a penalty kick in the 73rd minute when Missouri State's Stuart Wilkin was whistled for a handball in the box.  Richard Olson, who scored a tying goal in the 30th minute earlier in the match, converted the resulting penalty kick, but referee Doug Wolff ruled the PK did not count as Bradley had a player in the box too early.  Olson's second attempt was saved by Bears keeper Liam Priestly to preserve the 1-1 tie.

Hoegg made the most of the situation, netting the game-winner at 84:44 to finish a feed from Scott Midgley and Priestly made the goal stand up by finishing with three saves.

Missouri State's Stuart Wilkin put the Bears on top in the 20th minute when he cleaned up a poor clearance by the Bradley defense, netting his first goal of the year at 19:16.  Olson scored the equalizer in the 30th minute after taking a feed from Will Kidd down the left flank and dribbling to the top left corner of the penalty area, where his strike immediately deflected of his defender's foot and looped over Priestly inside the back post at 29:58.

Missouri State outshot Bradley 13-7, but managed only a 6-4 advantage in shots on goals.  Both teams finished with seven corner kicks.

Bradley will continue its 3-game road swing with a pair of non-conference trips: Tuesday night at Milwaukee and next Saturday at Western Michigan.  The Braves will resume their home schedule Oct. 8 with a pivotal conference game against SIU Edwardsville at Shea Stadium.
