NORMAL, Ill. – Junior outside hitter Erica Haslag (Jefferson City, Mo./Helias Catholic) was named a First-Team All-Missouri Valley Conference selection according to an announcement by the league office Thursday.

Haslag is the first Bradley player to earn First-Team All-Valley honors since Lindsay Stalzer was named MVC Player of the Year in 2005 after ranking among the national leaders in kills throughout the season.  In fact, Haslag's team-best 530 kills this fall rank as the second-best season total by a Brave behind Stalzer's MVC season record 720 kills which led the nation in 2005.

Through matches of Nov. 21, Haslag ranked fifth in the nation in total kills and seventh in the country in total points.  Her 4.38 kills per set in 2017, which ranks 20th in the NCAA, is the fifth-best season average in school history as she helped Bradley to improved overall and MVC win totals for the second consecutive year, making the first time the Braves improved in both in back-to-back seasons since 1993 and 1994.

The only player in program history to collect 500 kills, 25 aces, 375 digs and 45 or more blocks in a season, Haslag turned in 18 double-doubles this fall and was named a First-Team MVC Scholar-Athlete earlier this week making her just the sixth individual in program history to earn First-Team All-Valley and First-Team MVC Scholar-Athlete honors in the same season.  She is 21st in the nation in points per set at 4.83.

She currently ranks eighth in school history with 1,145 career kills and is just the third individual to reach 1,000 kills as a junior.  Haslag is just the fourth Bradley player with 1,100 career kills and 750 or more digs and currently ranks 11th nationally in career kills among juniors.

Haslag, who was named MVC Player of the Week Monday, had 20 or more kills nine times this season including a season-best 30 kills at MVC regular-season champion Missouri State.  A two-time Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week selection, she was named co-MVP of Bradley's CEFCU Invitational in addition to being selected as the Best Attacker at the 2017 CEFCU Classic.

One of 14 expected returning letterwinners for Bradley in 2018, Haslag is expected to lead a BU lineup which could return as much as 80 percent of the team's kills, 99 percent of the squad's assists, 97 percent of the aces and 90 percent of this year's digs in addition to 85 percent of the blocking from 2017.
