COOKEVILLE, TN - Tennessee Tech (6-1) overtook Bradley with an 8-run sixth inning, then held off a late rally by the Braves (3-3) for a 16-14 win in the final game of the weekend series Sunday afternoon at Bush Stadium.

The teams each used six pitchers Sunday and each of the 12 pitchers issued at least one walk or a hit by pitch and 10 of the 12 hurlers allowed at least one run.

Bradley RF Jean-Francois Garon was 3-for-5 with two home runs, his fourth and fifth of the season.  After C Ian Kristan got the game's scoring started with a 2-run home run in the second, Garon's 2-run blast in the third inning put Bradley ahead, 4-3, and he added a solo shot in the fifth for a 6-4 advantage.

Bradley starting pitcher Eric Scheuermann (L, 0-1) had retired nine Golden Eagles hitters in a row in the third, fourth and fifth innings until running into trouble in the fateful sixth.  Tennessee Tech 1B Chase Chambers ended Scheuermann's streak by opening the home half of the sixth with the first of his two home runs and the Golden Eagles followed with three straight singles to end Scheuermann's day.  Before the sixth was over, TTU touched four Bradley pitchers for eight runs on seven hits, a walk and three hit by pitches.

Even after Tennessee Tech stretched its lead to 15-6 on a Chambers 3-run home run in the seventh, the Braves battled back.  Garon's 2-run single highlighted Bradley's 6-run eighth inning, which also featured five walks and two hit by pitches.

After Tennessee Tech plated an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth, Bradley continued to rally in the ninth.  Luke Shadid opened the inning with Bradley's ninth walk of the game and after Spencer Gaa reached on an error, the Braves brought the tying run to the plate with no outs.  Luke Mangieri hit a RBI double down the right field line.  After Garon struck out, Cord Perea-Griffeth completed the scoring with a run-scoring ground out, before Andrew Ivelia flew out to end the game.

Bradley returns to action next weekend by visiting #18 Sam Houston State for a 3-game series Friday (6:30 pm), Saturday (3 pm) and Sunday (1 pm) in Huntsville, TX.
