RIO VERDE, Ariz. – Junior
Grace Henderson shot a season-best two-over 74 to highlight the final day of the 15
th annual Rio Verde Invitational for the Bradley women's golf team as the Braves slipped into a tie for 12
th of 19 in the final team standings Sunday.
Henderson was one of three Bradley players to shoot in the 70's in the third and final round at the Rio Verde Country Club's par-72 White Wing Golf Course. She turned in a season-best two-over 74 to climb into a tie for 37
th in the final individual standings at 229 for her lowest 54-hole total of the 2016-17 season.
Sophomore
Frankie Saban followed up her career-best two-under 70 from Saturday's second round with a 78 Sunday. Saban was three shots back of Henderson in a tie with junior
Ally Scaccia, who shot a third-round 80, for 49
th at 232.
Freshman
Taylor Ledwein tied for 60
th in the field (234), closing out play with an 81, while sophomore
Chloe Horton matched Ledwein's 81 and was 72
nd in the individual standings with a three-round total of 236.
Sophomore
Brooke Thompson was in the field as an individual and carded her lowest round since September with a five-over 77. Thompson was one shot back of Horton in a tie for 73
rd (237).
Bradley carded a 313 Sunday and slipped into a tie with Ball State for 12
th (919) in the field as the Braves turned in their lowest 54-hole team score since the MVC Preview in early October. Eastern Michigan claimed the team title at 889, with Northern Illinois second at 893 and UMKC rounding out the top three (895).
The Braves were six shots back of 10
th-place Missouri State (913) and one behind 11
th-place Akron (918). Xavier followed Bradley and Ball State in 14
th (920), while I-74 rival Illinois State was 15
th overall at 922.
Bradley will have two weeks off before returning to action March 13 & 14 when the Braves host the Bradley Spring Break Invitational at Brookhaven Country Club in Dallas, Texas.
