PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior runner Haran Dunderdale (Grantham, England/Carres) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after winning a pair of titles at the 2017 Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Dunderdale won the mile run to become the first member of the men's track and field program to win an individual track title at the MVC Indoor Championship and the first to win any individual title since Len Spicer claimed the triple jump in 1983 (34 years ago).  The mile title came a day after he was part of Bradley's school record setting distance medley relay team, which claimed the Valley title with a time of 10:02.07.  A finance major, Dunderdale owns a 3.33 cumulative grade point average.

Each week, a Bradley student-athlete is selected as the COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week.  The individual chosen must be at least a sophomore in class standing and boast a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average, while displaying a level of athletic excellence.

Dunderdale and the Bradley men's track & field team will open the 2017 outdoor season Saturday, March 25 in Carbondale, Ill., at the Bill Cornell Spring Classic.
