LAS VEGAS, NV - Bradley Tennis closed out its spring break trip to Las Vegas by earning a 5-2 win against Southern Utah Wednesday at the Darling Tennis Center. While snapping a brief, 2-match skid, Bradley (8-6) earned its first win against Southern Utah in four tries, dating to 2004.

The Braves opened the day with a sweep of the doubles point. The doubles round included an exciting 7-6 win in No. 3 doubles. The pair of junior Alexa Brandt and sophomore Malini Wijesinghe claimed the victory that included an 11-9 tiebreaker point. The duo of senior Ariel Dechter and junior Aimee Manfredo also came out swinging, taking a dominating 6-0 win in No. 2 doubles.

With her seventh win (6-1, 5-7, 6-3) at No. 1 singles this season, Dechter moved up a spot in the Bradley standings for No. 1 singles wins in a single season. She is now tied for seventh with four other players. Brandt dominated her singles match at No. 3 singles, winning 6-0, 6-1, and Manfredo pulled out a victory at No. 4 singles by turning in scores of 7-6(4), 6-2. Junior Alejandra de Lasa claimed Bradley's fifth point, defeating her Southern Utah opponent 6-1, 3-6, 6-1.

Bradley returns home Saturday (6 p.m.) for a dual match against Western Michigan at the Clubs at River City.  As the Braves continue to make program history, Bradley will be playing for its first-ever win against the Broncos.

Saturday's dual will kick off a 4-match home stand for the Braves that will continue March 25 with the inaugural Bradley Tennis Coliseum Classic, a pair of dual matches at 9 a.m. versus Saint Louis and 6 p.m. against
IUPUI on three temporary courts inside Renaissance Coliseum.
