Women's Basketball 4/12/2017 2:59:00 PM
PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley women's basketball head coach Andrea Gorski added three to the 2017-18 roster, announcing Wednesday that 5-7 guard Shunseere Kent (East Point, Ga./Hapeville Charter/East Georgia State) and 6-0 forward Emily Marsh (Superior Township, Mich./Huron) both signed National Letters of Intent to attend Bradley, in addition to adding preferred walk-on Missy Adrian (Rolling Meadows, Ill./Fremd) for next season.

The first player in program history from the state of Georgia, Kent will have two years of eligibility remaining after transferring from East Georgia State College in Swainsboro, Ga.  Kent was the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association's Player of the Year in 2016-17 after averaging 15.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game as a sophomore.

"Shunseere is a dynamic player who will bring a scoring mentality to our backcourt," said Gorski.  "With the ability to play both guard positions, we will look for her to have an immediate impact.  Her love for the game and passion for winning are contagious.  We can't wait to work with her and watch her grow during her time on The Hilltop."

Kent shot 31 percent from three-point range and 73 percent from the free throw line, while helping her team to a 20-8 overall record this past season.  As a freshman, she started 23 games averaging 13.0 points per contest for the Bobcats

A four-time letterwinner in basketball at Huron High School, Marsh averaged 12 points, three blocks and seven rebounds per game as a senior and was an honorable mention all-state selection by the Detroit News.  A three-time all-conference performer, Marsh helped the River Rats to four district championships and a pair of state regional titles.  She was a two-time all-area selection.

"We are thrilled to officially welcome Emily to our program," added Gorski.  "She will bring versatility on both ends of the floor and will help stretch our offense behind the three-point line.  Her court awareness and basketball IQ will prove valuable to our team.  I look forward to watching her flourish over the next four years."

In addition to her basketball honors, Marsh was a two-time all-state selection in water polo along with a three-time all-conference performer in golf.  She was part of a second-place state finisher in water polo.  Marsh will be the first Bradley player from the state of Michigan since Nikisha Carpenter (1996-99).

Adrian was a team captain as a senior and helped the Vikings to three consecutive IHSA Class 4A state semifinal appearances, which included back-to-back state runner-up showings in 2014-15 and 2015-16.  In her three varsity seasons, Fremd posted an 87-16 (.845) record.  As a senior she averaged seven points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists and nearly two steals per outing while shooting 59 percent from the field.

"Missy is a great addition to our basketball family and is a perfect complement to our other newcomers," stated Gorski.  "She has a winning background and her work ethic combined with her commitment to excellence will have a positive impact on our program.  We are excited to watch her grow both on and off the court during her time at Bradley."

An all-area pick by the Daily Herald following her final prep season, Adrian earned Mid Suburban League All-Conference honors in 2016-17.  She also lettered in soccer, helping the Vikings to a regional championship in 2016 and chose to walk-on at Bradley despite receiving scholarship offers to play NCAA Division I soccer.

Bradley's 2017-18 roster will feature five newcomers with the additions of Adrian, Kent and Marsh to go with Fall signees 5-10 guard Gabi Haack (Elk River, Minn./Elk River), 5-8 guard Jailynn Lawson (Peoria, Ill./Central) and 5-11 forward Nyjah White (Columbia, Mo./Hickman) in addition to returning 10 letterwinners from 2016-17.
