ST. LOUIS - The Missouri Valley Conference Men's Soccer Championship will return to Peoria when Bradley University hosts the postseason tournament Nov. 7-8-10-12 at Shea Stadium.  Since the league adopted the single-site tournament format in 2004, Shea Stadium will become the event home for the seventh time and Bradley will will host the championship match for the eighth time overall since 1999, easily the most of any Valley school in the league.

Bradley previously hosted the MVC Men's Soccer Championship at Shea Stadium in 2005, 2006, 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014, as well as the 1999 event at Becker Park.  The Braves reached the championship game in 1999, 2005, 2006, 2010 and 2013, winning the title and the league's automatic entry into the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship in 2010 and 2013.  In total, Bradley has hosted 32 MVC Tournament games at Shea Stadium since the facility opened in 2003.

The 1,700-seat stadium features one of the finest natural-grass playing surfaces in the country and can accommodate four dedicated, indoor team meeting spaces.  In addition to the 32 Valley postseason games, Bradley has hosted two Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup matches featuring Major League Soccer teams (Chicago Fire, Columbus Crew and Colorado Rapids) at Shea Stadium.

All six matches in the 2017 MVC Men's Soccer Championship will be broadcast on The Valley on ESPN3.  The top two regular-season finishers will receive double byes into the Nov. 10 semifinals.  The bottom two seeds will kick off the tournament Nov. 7, with the winner playing again Nov. 8 in the quarterfinals against the No. 3 seed in a doubleheader that also will feature the Nos. 4 and 5 seeds squaring off.  The championship game will be played Sunday, Nov. 12.

The Missouri Valley Conference announced all of its 2017-18 championship sites Thursday, following approval by the league's Joine Committee (faculty athletics representatives, directors of athletics and senior woman administrators of each institution), though the recommendations are subject to ratification at the MVC Presidents' Council meeting June 13.
