PEORIA, IL - With Tropical Storm Harvey forcing the cancellation of this weekend's HBU Invitational, Bradley Soccer was able to work with fellow event participant Gonzaga to quickly schedule a replacement game and the two teams will meet this Sunday for a 1 p.m. season-opening kickoff at Shea Stadium.

Based on forecasts calling for heavy rains and storm surge from Harvey that are expected to cause severe flooding along the Texas coastline, Texas governor Greg Abbott declared a preemptive state of emergency in Harris County, forcing Houston Baptist to cancel this weekend's tournament.  Bradley was scheduled to face UT Rio Grande Valley today at 5 p.m., followed by a Sunday match against the host Huskies.  Gonzaga was scheduled to play the same two teams during the tournament.

Now the Braves and Bulldogs will meet for a third consecutive season and in consecutive season-openers.  Gonzaga earned a 2-0 victory at Shea Stadium Oct. 2, 2015 and the teams played to a 1-1 draw in last season's opener (Aug. 26, 2016) in Spokane.  Sunday's game will not be televised, but live stats will be available at BradleyBraves.com with game updates provided on Twitter by following the @BradleySoccer account.

Regular-season ticket policies will be in place for Sunday's game:  $6 for adults; $3 for children ages 14 and under; and FREE for Bradley University students, faculty and staff and Little Braves Club members, as well as active military members and their immediate family members.  Parking at Shea Stadium is $3 per car.  Tailgate spaces are available for $10 per car or $20 for RV spaces.
