PEORIA, Ill. -- Junior Erica Haslag had 14 kills and three aces, while sophomore Kathryn Graf collected 10 kills on just 14 swings to power Bradley Volleyball to a 25-10, 26-24, 25-10 victory over South Dakota State Friday morning at Renaissance Coliseum to open the 2017 CEFCU Invitational.

Haslag had more kills (6) in the opening set than South Dakota State did in the frame (4), en route to a match-high 14 kills.  Graf hit .714 in the match as she tallied 10 kills on 14 swings with no errors to tie for the 10th best single-match hitting percentage in school history.  The duo helped the Braves hit a season-best .376 in the sweep.

Sophomore Hannah Angeli served seven consecutive points in the first set to help Bradley take control of what was a three-point contest at 10-7.  Graf and Haslag followed a South Dakota State service error with a block and the pair each added two kills during a 7-0 Bradley run which put the Braves comfortably ahead 17-7.  Bradley cruised to a 25-10 first set win as the Braves forced eight Jackrabbit attack errors compared to just four South Dakota State kills.

South Dakota State hung with Bradley throughout the second set and fought off a Bradley set point to tie the score at 24-24.  Senior Taylor Thiele broke the eighth tie of the frame with a kill to give the Braves a 25-24 advantage and an Alissa Schovanec kill sealed a 26-24 Bradley win.  The Braves collected 18 kills in the second set.

After South Dakota State scored the first point of the third set, Bradley answered with 11 consecutive points.  Graf and Haslag each had two kills during the spurt for the Braves, which also included five South Dakota State attack errors, as Bradley built a commanding 11-1 lead.  The Braves hit .526 in the third set (10 kills - 0 errors - 19 attack) and served up four aces as Bradley completed the sweep with a 25-10 victory.

Haslag passed Megan Schmidt for 22nd in career kills at Bradley and now has 825 career kills as a Brave.  She is 12 kills from breaking into the top 20 in school history.

Junior Yavianliz Rosado led Bradley defensively with a team-best 12 digs to help limit South Dakota State to an .089 hitting percentage.
