ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- For the second time this season and fifth time in his career, senior Ethan Brue (Chandlerville, Ill./AC Central/Illinois Central) has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the week according to an announcement by the league office Wednesday afternoon.

Brue, who shared the award with David Rauer of Illinois State, won medalist honors for the second time in as many outings in 2017-18 and the fifth time in his career as he claimed top honors at the Derek Dolenc Invitational to help Bradley to a third-place team finish.

The first Bradley player to shoot three consecutive rounds in the 60's, Brue won medalist honors at the par-71 Gateway National Golf Links by two strokes at eight-under par 205 to match the best 54-hole score in school history.  He helped the Braves tie the third lowest three-round team score in program history (861) as he broke Lyle Burns' school record for individual titles of four with his fifth career win.

Brue opened play with a career-best four-under 67 and was six-under par through 36 holes after a second-round 69.  He matched the two-under 69 in the final round as he carded his school record 10th career sub-70 round to top the previous mark of nine which was also held by Burns.

The MVC Golfer of the Week honor is the second in as many tournaments this season for Brue as he tied Burns for the most Valley Golfer of the Week selections in program history with five.

Through two tournaments, Brue owns a team-best 70.67 stroke average in 2017-18 to lower his Bradley career average to 73.02.

Brue and the Bradley men's golf team return to action next Monday and Tuesday at the Firestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio.
