Braves Fall To #22 Northern Iowa

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Bradley Volleyball couldn't keep pace with a hot-hitting Northern Iowa team as the 22nd-ranked Panthers hit .398 in the match against the Braves Friday night at the McLeod Center to earn a 25-14, 25-11, 25-12 victory in Missouri Valley Conference volleyball action.
 
Senior Jamie Livaudais had a team-high nine kills in the setback, while junior Yavianliz Rosado had 11 digs to help pace Bradley (7-11 overall, 0-4 MVC).
 
Northern Iowa (13-4 overall, 3-0 MVC) jumped out to a 10-4 lead in the first set, but Bradley clawed back into the contest and trailed 11-10 following an Erica Haslag kill.  The Panthers answered with three consecutive points as part of a 9-1 run to build a 20-11 advantage.  UNI went on to take the opener 25-14.
 
In the second set, Northern Iowa took control of what was a one-point contest with a 7-1 run to go in front 13-6.  The Panthers had 14 kills with one error in the second en route to a 25-11 victory.
 
Another big UNI run midway through the third set proved to be costly for Bradley.  The Braves trailed 9-6 when the Panthers rattled off three consecutive points and chased a BU point on a Northern Iowa attack error with seven straight points to take a 19-7 lead.  UNI went on to win the third set 25-12 to complete the sweep.
 
Bradley closes out a three-match MVC road swing Saturday with a 7 p.m. match at Drake.
