FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. – Sophomore Taylor Ledwein is tied for 23rd individually and the Bradley Women's Golf team is seventh in the 15-team field after 36 holes at the Amelia Island Collegiate Monday.

One of three Braves to shoot both of Monday's rounds in the 70's, Ledwein is the leader in the clubhouse for Bradley at seven-over par 151 after carding rounds of 75 and 76 on the first day of the 2018 Spring season for BU.  The 75 and 76 extended Ledwein's streak of consecutive sub-80 rounds to 24, which is tied for the second longest in program history with Danielle Lemek and Kelly Amundrud.  Lemek also holds the school record at 32 consecutive rounds in the 70's or better.

Bradley was ninth in the team standings following an opening round 307, but improved by four shots in the afternoon (303) to close Monday's play alone in seventh at 610 at the par-72 Amelia National Golf Club.

Defending NJCAA National Champion Daytona State College leads the field at three-over par 579.  The field includes two teams ranked in the top 100 according to Golfweek.com, with #55 Campbell sitting in second at 582.  North Florida is third overall 587, followed by fourth-place Jacksonville State (592) and fifth-place Winthrop (601).  Florida Gulf Coast has a three-shot lead on Bradley in sixth at 607, while the Braves (610) are four shots up on eighth-place Georgia State (614).

Ledwein will head into Tuesday's final round two shots out of the top 20 and four back of the top 10.  Ayelen Irizar of Campbell is atop the individual standings at four-under 140.

Senior Ally Scaccia sits three shots back of Ledwein in a tie for 35th at 154 after scores of 78 and 76 Monday as she moved into third in career rounds played at Bradley with her 110th and 111th rounds as a Brave.

Junior Brooke Thompson opened a tournament with back-to-back scores in the 70's for the fifth time in six outings in 2017-18.  She shot a 79 in the morning before firing the lowest second round score on the squad at 75 and is tied with Scaccia for 35th (154).

Fellow junior Chloe Horton matched Ledwein for the lowest opening round score by a Brave with a three-over 75.  She is tied for 44th overall at 156, finishing up the day with an 81.  Junior Frankie Saban completed the team scoring for Bradley, one shot behind Horton in a tie for 51st at 157.  Saban was five shots better in the afternoon round, chasing a first-round 81 with a second-round 76.

Senior Grace Henderson is in the field as an individual and matched Saban's 157 to finish Monday in a tie for 51st.  Henderson, who is playing for the first time since the 2017-18 season opener, turned in her lowest round of the season with a second round 77.
