PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley University softball athlete Abbott Badgley has been named this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday. Badgley was honored after going seven-for-16 over four games last week, including hitting two home runs and driving in seven runs on Senior Weekend against Evansville.

The senior from West Lafayette, Indiana, tallied three two-hit games last week against Illinois State and Evansville. On Senior Weekend, Badgley hit a home run in each game of a Saturday doubleheader and drove in seven runs, including the final run to force a run-rule Senior Day victory and secure a sweep against the Purple Aces. Badgley also earned two wins in the circle, pitching 4.1 innings of relief in a 12-inning marathon in game one of Saturday's twin bill and pitching an additional inning of relief in the nightcap.

Badgley's strong performance and academic success have earned her this week's Busey Bank Scholar-Athlete honor.
