PEORIA, IL – With only one position to fill on the 2021-22 roster following the graduation of current senior Natalia Barbery, Bradley Tennis was extremely selective in its current recruiting class. Today, Braves Head Coach Matt Tyler announced that spot has been filled by Kirstin Hailey (Clinton, MA/Advanced Math and Science Academy), who has signed her National Letter of Intent to attend Bradley University and play tennis for the Braves next season.

Hailey is coveted nationally as a 4-star recruit, competing at the highest levels of USTA competition. She is ranked 148th nationally and fifth in the New England region, which includes six states. She was ranked as high as 140th nationally in 2020.

"I'm so excited to welcome Kirstin to our Bradley Tennis family." Said Tyler. "She is an outstanding player and student.  Her academic and athletic accomplishments will help us continue to raise our level, both in the classroom and on the tennis court."

In high school competition, Hailey was a fourth-year varsity letter winner and has compiled a 49-3 career record through her first three seasons. Her laundry-list of accomplishments include being a three-time team MVP, 2018 Central MA Individual District Champion, 3-time Metro West Daily News All-Star, 3-time Worcester Telegram and Gazette All-Star and 2018 Worcester Telegram and Gazette Tennis Player of the Year.

Hailey is a member of the Leaders of Tomorrow Club and Operation Smile Club at Advanced Math and Science Academy. She has also volunteered locally at a soup kitchen and participated in coat and food drives supporting neighboring towns.

Hailey's father, Brian Hailey, competed as a Division I tennis player at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell.

Bradley is preparing to open its 2021 dual match season Jan. 31 against Big East Conference member DePaul.  The Braves have combined for a 23-13 (.639) dual match record the last two seasons and will be attempting to complete a third consecutive winning season this spring for just the third time in program history, most-recently from 1990-93.

Due to Restore Illinois Tier 1 and Phase 4 COVID mitigation protocols, fans will not be permitted to attend Bradley's indoor competitions at the Clubs at River City.
