NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Fresh off back-to-back team title sweeps to begin the season, Bradley Cross Country placed in the top 10 against some of the top cross country programs in the country at the Joe Piane Invitational at Notre Dame.
Kaitlyn Sheppard paced the Braves in the Women's 5K Blue Race, placing 16th with a personal-best time of 16:34.0. The time ranks as the second-fastest 5K time in program history and the fastest 5K time since 2022. Elsewhere,
Abigail Hancock (17:09.2),
Noelle Steines (17:15.2),
Skyler Balzer (17:21.2) and
Rhune Vanroose (17:26.4) all set new career-bests in the Blue Race. Bradley finished seventh out of 20 teams.
The Men's 8K Blue Race saw
Caleb Lind lead the Braves with a 24th-place finish, clocking a personal-best 23:34.5. The time is the third-fastest men's 8K time in Bradley history.
Michael Rebello (23:55.0) and
Travis Gaffney (23:56.6) each ran times under 24 minutes, while
Jaxson Copelin (24:09.6),
Oliver Burns (24:13.3) and
Jacob Trangmar (24:17.0) all set personal bests. Bradley finished ninth out of 18 teams.
COMING UP...
The Braves host their annual Pink Classic on Friday, Oct. 17, at Newman Golf Course. The day of racing begins at 11:45 a.m. with a Co-Ed 1K Exhibition race.
