KALAMAZOO, MI - Playing a man down for more than 84 minutes, Bradley (2-7-2) withstood a historic offensive effort from Western Michigan (8-2-1) to earn a 1-1 draw Saturday afternoon at WMU Soccer Complex.

Richard Olson scored his third goal of the year in 17th minute and Logan Ketterer made a career-high 13 saves to offset Western Michigan's 40-8 advantage in shots.  The 40 shots by the Broncos were the most by a Bradley opponent in Jim DeRose's 21 years as head coach and the third-most all-time.  Western Michigan players Brandon Bye and Anthony Bowie each recorded 13 shots, tying for the second-most total by an opposing player.

Western Michigan put only 35 percent of those shots on target, however, and Ketterer was repeately in position to stop those accurate attempts.  His 13 saves tied for the third-most every by a Bradley keeper, most-recently achieved by his predecessor between the pipes, Brian Billings, Nov. 13, 2013 against Evansville.  Scott Fusco owns the record by twice making 15 saves during the 1991 season.

Bradley recorded only one shot in the first half, but the Braves made the most of it when Olson rose above his marking defender to nod home a Falk Dennert flank service at 16:40.

Playing on the road for the third time in nine days, Bradley's task Saturday became more challenging when Clark Emerson was hit with a red card at 25:34 for delivering a high elbow while working to win a long free kick service from Ketterer.

Despite playing short-handed the remainder of the game, Bradley kept the Broncos off the board until the 75th minute when Bowie headed a midfield service to the center of the penalty area, where Bowie slipped inside his defender to one-time the ball past Ketterer for the equalizer at 74:38.

The Broncos, who rallied from behind late in Tuesday's 2-1 win against Drake, nearly duplicated the effort Saturday.  Western Michigan had three shots in the final 1:03 of regulation, but Ketterer collected the third attempt, a Bowie header, at 89:14 to send the game to overtime.  The Braves keeper came up with another huge save at the end of the first overtime, turning away a Diego Lopez attempt in a 1-v-1 situation at 99:03.

Bradley had the best opportunity for a golden goal in the second overtime when Alex Garcia found Matt Perry's head on a free kick play in the 104th minute, but Broncos keeper Drew Shepherd was perfectly positioned to stop Perry's shot.

Having completed its longest road trip of the season, a 3-game swing that also included visits to Missouri State Sept. 23 and Milwaukee Tuesday, Bradley will have a week to prepare for its next game, a key Missouri Valley Conference clash against SIU Edwardsville Oct. 8 at Shea Stadium.
