CHARLESTON, Ill. -- Senior midfielder Luke Kreamalmeyer (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville H.S.) came through with a goal and an assist in the second half, leading Bradley (5-4, 1-0) to a 2-1, come-from-behind win at Eastern Illinois (3-6, 0-1) in the Missouri Valley Conference opener for both teams Friday afternoon at Lakeside Field.

Although Bradley owned a 6-3 edge in shots in the first half, Eastern Illinois took a 1-0 lead into the intermission, thanks to Jimmy Klatter's sixth goal of the season in the 30th minute. Eastern Illinois goalkeeper Mike Sims used a stiff tail wind to send a punt over the top of the Bradley defense. Klatter collected the ball and dribbled up the left flank before beating Bradley keeper Chris Dunsheath with a shot from 10 yards out. The score marked the first time in Bradley's 18-year soccer history that an opposing keeper earned an assist against the Braves.

With the conditions switched in the second half, the Braves outshot their hosts 14-2 in the final 45 minutes. Kreamalmeyer set up the tying goal in the 68th minute when his initial shot from the left side was deflected home by junior Nick Bowden (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way H.S.). Kreamalmeyer delivered his second game-winning goal of the season in the 83rd minute by running onto a Chris Brown feed with a rush up the middle. With three points on the day, Kreamalmeyer took over the team's scoring lead with 10 points.

In the end, Bradley finished with a 20-5 advantage in shots and the Braves kept the pressure on Sims by putting 11 of those shots on frame.

Bradley will return to action Sunday by stepping back out of league play for its final non-conference game of the season, a 3 p.m. match versus Wisconsin-Milwaukee (3-2-2) at Shea Stadium.
