Mission Statement
The primary mission of Bradley University Sports Medicine is to provide first-class sports medicine services to its student-athletes. All services offered are within the six domains of the Board of Certification Standards of Practice. This includes the prevention, diagnosis, care, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and illnesses, as well as enhancement of the nutritional, physiological, and psychological needs of each student-athlete.
Bradley University Sports Medicine aims to be a division of excellence within the athletic department. We are committed to the health and wellness of our student-athletes, and to the success of Bradley University.
Recovery Room
Donations from the annual Fund-a-Need during the 2017 Bids for the Braves Auction allowed Bradley Athletics to install a state-of-the-art Recovery Room in Renaissance Coliseum. The project included the installation of NormaTec Recovery Systems and GameReady Systems. In addition, a swipe card pad was added to provide after-hour access to the Recovery Room to enhance opportunities and maximize the student-athlete’s time.
NormaTec is the leader in rapid recovery and includes a control unit and attachments, which go on the legs, arms or hips. They use compressed air to massage an athlete’s limbs, mobilize fluid and help speed recovery. The project also included the installation of custom recliners and recovery tables.
The GameReady system features ACCEL Technology (Active Compression and Cold Exchange Loop). The first-ever sports injury and post-op recovery device of its kind, the system has set a new standard in non-narcotic musculoskeletal injury pain relief and accelerated healing.
