ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Junior Josh Brown has been named the Missouri Valley Conference golfer of the week announced by the league office Wednesday after earning medalist honors at the Ironhorse Intercollegiate Monday and Tuesday in Tuscola, Ill.

Brown shot rounds of 73, 70 and 76 to take the individual title at the Ironhorse Intercollegiate earlier this week with a three-round total of 219. He edged Evansville's Kyle Straub by one shot to take medalist honors marking the highest finish for a Brave since Andy Mickelson was the medalist at the Illinois Intercollegiate on April 21, 2003 in Huntley, Ill.

The seventh different player in program history to earn Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Week honors, Brown eagled the 350-yard, par-four ninth hole in each of his three rounds during the tournament. The Valley Golfer of the Week honor is the first for a Brave since Mickelson captured the honor on Oct. 23, 2002.

Brown and the Braves close out the fall schedule Monday and Tuesday at the Southwest Missouri State Fall Invite in Springfield, Mo.
