COLUMBUS, Ohio ? Three Bradley players scored in double figures and six different players had eight or more points as the Bradley women's basketball held off a valiant Detroit comeback to post a 78-75 victory at the Wonder/Hostess Buckeye Classic in Columbus, Ohio.

The Braves improved to 3-0 on the season for just the third time in program history with the win. Bradley's previous 3-0 starts came during the 2001-02 (9-0) and 1981-82 seasons (4-0).

Bradley was hot from the floor in the first half, taking a 52-32 lead at the break. The Braves shot a blistering 66.7 percent from the floor in the opening 20 minutes and committed just four turnovers in the first half, while forcing 11 first-half Titan turnovers.

Detroit came out gunning in the second half, scoring the first 17 points of the period before senior Amy Fuller hit a shot with 14:30 left to play to end the Titans' run. The Braves committed seven turnovers and missed their first five shots in the opening minutes of the period, before Fuller's basket stopped the 17-0 run.

Bradley was able to maintain the lead throughout the second half, extending the advantage to back 13 points with 7:49 to play. Detroit responded with an 11-1 run to pull back to within three points, 67-64, with 3:35 to play. Fuller hit a jumper in the lane at 3:30 to push the lead to five points and sophomore Amy Peters hit a basket off a Detroit turnover to make it 71-64 in favor of Bradley with just under three minutes remaining.

Fuller iced the game from the line hitting a pair of free throws with 2.8 seconds on the clock to give Bradley a 78-72 lead. Detroit's Kelly Jaskot hit a runner from half court as time expired to make it 78-75.

Bradley shot just 55 percent from the free throw line, hitting 22-of-40 free throw attempts. The 40 free throw attempts were the most by the Braves since attempting 46 free throws at Western Illinois on Dec. 4, 1998.

Senior Dena Williams led Bradley with 14 points, to move up two spots on Bradley's career scoring list into 23rd place. Fuller nearly finished with a double-double, posting 11 points and a game-high nine rebounds as she scored nine of Bradley's 26 second-half points. Sophomore Amy Peters hit 6-of-9 shots from the field and finished with 13 points off the bench.

Detroit fell to 0-2 on the season with the loss. Katie Solner, Lindsey Pasquinzo and Kelly Jaskot combined to score 61 of the Titans 75 points. Solner had 24 points, seven assists and four steals, while Pasquinzo added 21 points and four assists.
