NORMAL, Ill. -- Junior Meaghan LeBlanc tied for fourth and senior Carly Sobel tied for seventh as the duo helped lead the Bradley Women's Golf Team to a second place finish at the Illinois State Redbird Classic Monday at the Illinois State Golf Course.

Entering the day in a tie for second place with Northern Iowa, the Braves shot 313 in Monday's final round to finish four shots ahead of the Panthers and capture sole possession of second place.

LeBlanc also entered the day in a tie for second place in the individual standings, but shot a final-round 79 to tie for fourth place overall at 229. LeBlanc was nine shots behind medalist Katie Laehn and three shots out of a top-three finish. Carly Sobel fired a team-best 76 on the day to move into a tie for seventh place at 232.

Senior Agnes Kim matched a season-low with a 77 to move up to 14th place at 236, while freshman Rikki Sobel earned her first career top 20 finish, tying for 18th overall. Rikki Sobel, who was playing as an individual in the tournament, shot 80 in the final round to finish at 239.

Junior Whitney Bauer shot 81 to conclude play at 243 (tied for 26th) and freshman Whitney Cox fired an 84 to place 44th in the 51-person field at 257.

Illinois State won the team title, shooting 899 for the three rounds. The Braves took second at 940 and were followed by Northern Iowa (944), Southern Illinois (948) and UMKC (965). Creighton and Northern Illinois tied for sixth at 978, while Loyola (987) and Western Illinois (1002) rounded out the field.

The Braves are scheduled to close out the fall portion of the schedule September 19 & 20 at the Chip-N Club Invitational in Lincoln, Neb.
