INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. ? Elise Montrose and Ashley Morris teamed to post an 8-5 victory at #1 doubles, but Butler swept the singles matches to down the Bradley women's tennis team 7-0 in the Braves spring opener.
Morris and Montrose downed Alainn Griffin and Kim Jenson 8-5 at #1 doubles. Morris also had a hard-fought three set loss at #2 singles to highlight singles action for the Braves.
Elise Montrose fell at #1 singles to Alainn Griffin, 6-2, 6-1, while Kelley Wood dropped a tightly contested match 6-3, 7-5 to Michelle Hawes at #3 singles. Teri Chan was defeated 6-2, 6-2 by Shaden Dewiatt at #4 singles.
Kathleen Bowen lost in straight sets 6-0, 6-0 to Butler's Kim Jenson at #5 singles and Jessica Sampias was downed at #6 singles by Kaitlin Elliott at #6 singles, 6-0, 6-1.
Bradley returns to action Saturday, February 5 when the Braves host Valparaiso at 1 p.m. in Peoria.
