2005 State Farm

Missouri Valley Conference Championship

Hosted by Bradley University ? November 9, 11, 13 ? Peoria, Ill. ? Shea Stadium

 

 

A conference title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament will be on the line when the Valley's top six teams meet at Bradley's Shea Stadium to battle for the 2005 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Championship.

Wednesday, Nov. 9 ? Quarterfinals (Seeds 3-6)

Game 1:  (3) Vanderbilt vs. (6) Eastern Illinois  T 0-0 (2OT)
         Vanderbilt advances on PKs, 4-3
Game 2:  (4) Drake vs. (5) Missouri State         Drake, 2-1
 

Friday, Nov. 11 ? Semifinals

Game 3:  (2) #18 Creighton vs. (6) Vanderbilt     Creighton, 4-0 
Game 4:  (1) #17 Bradley vs. (4) Drake            Bradley, 1-0
 

Sunday, Nov. 13 ? Championship

Game 5:  (2) #18 Creighton vs. (1) #17 Bradley    1:00 p.m.
         MVC-TV (FSN Midwest, Comcast SportsNet Chicago, Fox College Sports)
 

As the top two seeds for the six-team tournament, Bradley and Creighton received quarterfinal byes.

Television

The championship game of the 2005 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Tournament will be televised live as part of the MVC-TV Network package.  The game has been cleared to air live on Fox Sports Midwest, Comcast SportsNet Chicago, Fox College Sports and MetroSports in Kansas City.  Veteran announcers Bob Ramsay (play-by-play) and Tony Hubert (analyst) will call the action live from Shea Stadium.

 

Audio Broadcasts

The Bradley Sports Information Office will produce audio broadcasts for all the quarterfinal and semifinal games and those broadcasts will be available at www.bubraves.com.  Visit the Bradley Live section of www.bubraves.com for more information regarding the audio broadcasts.

 

Tickets

Single-session tickets for the 2005 State Farm MVC Tournament are $6 for adults and $2 for youth (K-12) and seniors, and a tournament pass is available for $10, which will provide admission to all five tournament games.  Bradley University students will receive free admission to the MVC Tournament, courtesy of the Chiefs Club, by presenting their valid University IDs at the Shea Stadium ticket windows. All seating is general admission.  Tickets may be purchased at the Shea Stadium Ticket Office beginning one hour prior to the start of each session, or Monady-Friday at the Robertson Fieldhouse Ticket Office.

 

Parking is $2 and will be charged upon entering the main parking lot adjacent to Shea Stadium.

 

The first 500 children in attendance for Sunday's championship game will receive free admission.

 

Directions to Shea Stadium

Shea Stadium is located less than one mile from the Bradley University campus at 1523 W. Nebraska Avenue in Peoria, Illinois.

 

From St. Louis

?         Travel north on Interstate 55 to Interstate 155 in Lincoln, Ill.

?         Take the left exit ramp onto Interstate 155 North and continue north to Interstate 74 in Morton, Illinois.

?         Take the left exit onto I-74 West and continue west through downtown Peoria.

?         Exit I-74 West at the University Street North exit (91B).

?         After exiting the interstate, get into the far left lane in preparation for a left turn at the first traffic light (Nebraska Avenue).

?         Turn left onto Nebraska Avenue and the primary Shea Stadium parking area will be located one block ahead on the left.

 

From Indianapolis/Bloomington-Normal

?         Take I-74 West through downtown Peoria.

?         Exit I-74 West at the University Street North exit (91B).

?         After exiting the interstate, get into the far left lane in preparation for a left turn at the first traffic light (Nebraska Avenue).

?         Turn left onto Nebraska Avenue and the primary Shea Stadium parking area will be located one block ahead on the left.

 

From Chicago

?         Take I-55 South to Bloomington-Normal, the follow the directions for “From Indianapolis/Bloomington-Normal.

 

From the Quad Cities

?         Take I-74 East to Peoria, Illinois.

?         Exit I-74 at University Street (Exit 91).

?         At the top of the exit ramp, turn left onto University Street and continue north across I-74.

?         Get into the far left lane in preparation for a left turn at the first traffic light (Nebraska Avenue).

?         Turn left onto Nebraska Avenue and the primary Shea Stadium parking area will be located one block ahead on the left.
