PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior Genny Mueller (Springfield, Ill./Springfield) has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V First-Team and is now eligible for Academic All-American honors which will be announced in early March.
A health science major with a 3.85 cumulative grade point average, Mueller earned Academic All-District honors for the second consecutive season and currently ranks second on the team in scoring (12.3 points per game), rebounding (3.7 per game) and assists (2.4 per game). She also leads the team in three-point field goals (40), free throw percentage (.877) and steals (38).
Bradley's all-time leader in made three-pointers, she is also the school's career record holder in free throw percentage (.871) and ranks third in Missouri Valley Conference history. A five-time Bradley Scholar-Athlete of the Week this season, she ranks ninth in school history in scoring with 1,169 career points and she was a NACDA I-AAA Athletic Director's Scholar-Athlete last year.
In order to be eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-American consideration, student-athletes must be at least sophomores in both academic and athletic standing who have completed one full academic year at their nominating institution, and they must own a minimum 3.2 cumulative GPA. Position players must be starters or important reserves who have played in at least 50 percent of their team's games. District V is made up of CoSIDA's voting members in Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Manitoba and Ontario.
Joining Mueller on the Academic All-District V first team were April Calhoun (Minnesota), Kate Endress (Ball State), Tiffany Mor (Wisconsin-Green Bay) and Pam O'Connor (Eastern Illinois).
Mueller and the Braves return to action Thursday night at Indiana State at 7:05 p.m. (EST).
