PEORIA, Ill. ? The Bradley women's tennis team opened Missouri Valley Conference play with a 7-0 loss to Creighton Saturday at the Clubs at River City South in the league opener for both teams.
Bradley fell to 1-4 on the season with the loss and 0-1 in Missouri Valley Conference play.
Sophomore Elise Montrose and junior Ashley Morris combined to pick up the only victory of the day for the Braves, as the posted an 8-4 victory over Katie Chiu and Kim Cavan at #1 doubles. Creighton won the other two doubles matches, however to claim the double point.
Morris won the first set in singles play 6-1 over Deidre Senders, but fell 6-4, 6-2 in the final two sets at #2 singles. Sophomore Teri Chan also claimed the first set in singles action 6-4 over Creighton's Jennifer Burge at #4 singles, but Burge bounced back to take the final two sets 6-0, 7-5.
Bradley returns to action Sunday at 11 a.m. as the Braves play host to Wisconsin-Milwaukee at the Clubs at River City.
