Box Score CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Senior Brittany Mynsberge and juniors Bethany Till and Joanna Pettit each drove in two runs to help the Bradley softball to its first victory of the season as the Braves defeated Bowling Green 7-2 Saturday morning during second day action at the Frost Classic in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Bowling Green took a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning when two runs scored on a single by Allison Vallas.
The Braves responded by plating three runs in their half of the third inning. Mynsberge delivered the big blow of the inning, smacking her first double of the season to plate Molly Bergeson and Christine Cooney to tie the score at 2-2. Pinch runner Holly Rogers scored from second base on a Pettit single to give Bradley a 3-2 lead.
After scoring the first three runs of the games with two outs, the Braves added two more two-out runs in the bottom of the fourth, when Till had a two-out bases loaded single that scored Cooney and freshman Jessie Musgrove as Bradley took a 5-2 lead.
Freshman Trish Kowalewski had a one-out homer in the fifth inning, and Pettit had a run scoring double in the sixth as the Braves downed the Falcons 7-2 for their first victory of the season.
Junior Brittany Dehler picked up her first victory of the season, improving to 1-0 on the year. Dehler struck out four and walked three in the win.
Till and Pettit each went 2-for-4 with two RBI to highlight the Braves top offensive output of the young season. Bradley returns to action Saturday afternoon against Tennessee Tech.
