PEORIA, Ill. -- For the second consecutive year senior Genny Mueller has been named to the 10-member Division I-AAA Athletic Directors Association Scholar-Athlete Team announced Friday. Mueller finished second in voting to Tiffany Mor of Wisconsin-Green Bay, who earned Division I-AAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors.

A health science major with a 3.85 cumulative grade point average, Mueller led the team in three-pointers and steals and ranked second on the team in scoring, rebounding and assists. She is the second player in school history to earn I-AAA Scholar-Athlete honors and is the first player to garner the honor twice.

This season she was named a repeat selection for the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V first-team and also earned first-team Missouri Valley Conference scholar-athlete honors for the second consecutive year. Mueller averaged 12.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest in her final season, while leading the Missouri Valley Conference in free throw percentage at 87.2 percent.

She ended her career ninth on Bradley's career scoring list with 1,269 points and is the Braves all-time leader in three-point field goals and free throw percentage. Her career free throw percentage (.870) ranks third in Missouri Valley Conference history and her 182 career three-pointers is 18th in Valley history. Mueller shares the Bradley career mark for games played with teammate Dena Williams and also ranks among Bradley's career top 10 in blocked shots, steals and minutes played.

The Braves have boasted one selection on the Division I-AAA Scholar-Athlete team in each of its first three years of existence. Sara Bailey earned a spot in the 2002-03 squad and Mueller has been named to the team following the 2003-04 and 2004-05 seasons. Mueller was one of two Valley players named to the I-AAA Scholar-Athlete team as she Creighton's Laura Spanheimer were both repeat selections.

Basketball players from all Division I-AAA ADA member institutions were eligible for the award. Each of the nominees were required to have a minimum 3.20 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and be a starter or important reserve.

Now in its fourth year, the Division I-AAA ADA's mission is to enhance initiatives common to its Division I-AAA membership (the 90 Division I institutions that do not sponsor football), in particular, aspects related to their flagship basketball programs. The Association is administered by NACDA, which, now in its 40th year, is the professional and educational association for more than 6,150 athletics directors, associates, assistants and conference administrators at more than 1,600 institutions throughout the United State, Canada and Mexico.
