WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. -- Junior Meaghan LeBlanc posted her second top 10 finish of the season as she tied for seventh at the 30th annual Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational at the Tuscawilla Country Club in Winter Springs, Fla., but the Braves slipped to fifth place in final team standings in the 14-team tournament.
The Braves shot 323 during Tuesday's final round to slip from fourth place after Monday's first two rounds into fifth place as Florida Southern passed Bradley for fourth. Bradley finished with a three-round total of 942 to finish 10 shots behind fourth-place Florida Southern.
LeBlanc entered the day's round in second place in the individual standings and shot an 83 during Tuesday's round to finish in a tie for seventh place at 229. The top 10 finish was the second of the season for LeBlanc and the seventh time in her career she placed in the top 10.
Senior Agnes Kim finished in the top 20 for the third time in as many tournaments this spring after carding a 79 in the final round. Kim finished two shots behind LeBlanc in 12th place overall for her fourth top 20 finish of the year.
Fellow senior Carly Sobel tied for 41st overall, shooting an 80 on Tuesday to push her score to 243. Freshman Rikki Sobel was three shots behind her sister in a tie for 48th place at 246 after firing an 81, while junior Whitney Bauer tied for 67th overall at 254 after she shot 90 on Tuesday.
Defending Division II National Champion and tournament host Rollins College won the team title with a team score of 901. North Carolina-Greensboro was second with a total of 923, while Southern Illinois was third at 928. Florida Southern placed fourth at 932 while Bradley took fifth with a score of 942.
The Braves owned a 10-shot advantage on sixth-place finisher Lynn University, which finished at 952. Yale and Iowa tied for seventh place at 953, one shot behind Lynn. Richmond finished ninth at 962, with Stetson (10th - 970), Daytona Beach Community College (11th - 972), Nova Southeastern (12th - 974), Northern Illinois (13th - 978) and Boston College (14th - 984) rounding out the field.
Bradley returns to action Thursday and Friday at the Northern Illinois Snowbird in Tampa, Fla.
