JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Sophomore Scott Phegley shot a pair of 75's to tie for 18th place as he helped the Bradley men's golf team finish seventh of 10 teams at the North South Intercollegiate in Jacksonville, Fla.
Phegley carded 75 in both Monday and Tuesday's rounds to finish in a tie for 18th overall in the 57-person field with a score of 150. Junior Craig Tautges followed Monday's 76 in the opening round with a 75 of his own to finish tied for 21st at 151.
Junior Josh Brown tied for 33rd overall at 155 after firing rounds of 78 and 77, while sophomore Brad Molitor rounded out the scoring for the Braves in both rounds with scores of 79 and 80. Molitor tied for 39th overall at 159.
The Braves finished seventh overall with a score of 615. Murray State took the team title, shooting eight-under par 568 as a team. Jacksonville was second at 578 and Bethune-Cookman placed third at 580. Valdosta State finished fourth with a total of 590 and Flagler College was fifth at 597. The University of Indianapolis finished six shots ahead of Bradley with a 609 to place sixth, with Bradley following at 615. Butler (628), IPFW (645) and Hampton (676) rounded out the field, respectively.
The Braves return to action March 28 & 29 at the Western Illinois Invite in Macomb, Ill.
