LAS VEGAS, Nev. ? The Bradley women's tennis team concluded its spring break trip to Las Vegas, Nev., Thursday, falling to Colorado State by the score of 7-0. The Braves fell to 2-8 on the season, while Colorado State improved to 8-2 on the year.
Sophomore Elise Montrose and junior Ashley Morris nearly claimed victory at #1 doubles, but Colorado State's duo of Emily Kirchem and Dasha Zhurin pulled out a 9-7 victory. The Braves duo of Teri Chan and Kelley Wood also fell at #2 doubles, losing 8-4 to Anne Andersen and Jessica Jones. Alex Paganetti and Jasmin Singh completed the doubles sweep for the Rams with an 8-2 win over Bradley's Jess Sampias and Megan Vogel at #3 doubles.
Montrose four-match win streak at #1 singles came to an end, as Colorado State's Dasha Zhurin was a 6-1, 6-2 winner. Sophomore Teri Chan also saw her four-match win streak at #4 singles come to an end as she fell 6-2, 6-4 to Carla Pallares. Morris dropped a 6-2, 6-2 decision to Emily Kirchem at #2 singles and Wood fell 6-1, 6-0 at #3 singles to Anne Andersen. Katie Bowen and Jess Sampias both fell in straight sets at #5 and #6 singles, respectively.
Bradley returns to action Saturday, March 26 at Saint Louis at 2 p.m.
