AMES, Iowa -- Freshman Niobra Peterson broke a school indoor record in the 200 meters and senior Tiffany Mack turned in a personal best in the 800 meters as the two were Bradley's only participants at the Iowa State Last Chance Meet in Ames, Iowa.

Peterson broke Melodie Turner's 200-meter record 26.10 seconds set during the 1987-88 school year, clocking at 25.81 to finish 20th in the event. Turner was Valley champion in the 400-meters at the 1991 MVC Outdoor championship.

“It's great to start out your career measuring yourself among one of the greatest sprinters in school history,” head coach David Beauchem said. “It's a great sign of her potential to break a record like that as a freshman.”

Mack, meanwhile, finished 17th among 28 competitors in the women's 800 meter run, turning in a personal best time of 2:18.22.

Mack and Peterson were the Braves only two participants at the Iowa State Last Chance Meet and concludes the indoor track and field season for Bradley.
