WICHITA, Kan. ? Sophomore Teri Chan continued her solid play in singles as she earned her fourth consecutive win at #4 singles, but Wichita State proved to be too much as the Shockers posted a 5-2 victory over the Bradley women's tennis team in Wichita, Kan., Sunday.

Chan earned her fourth straight victory at #4 singles with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Alejandro Ripoll to improve to 3-4 in Missouri Valley Conference action and junior Ashley Morris was a 6-2, 6-2 winner against Wendi Webster at #2 singles, but the Shockers were straight set winners in the remaining four singles matches and swept the doubles point to defeat Bradley 5-2.

Sophomore Elise Montrose fell 6-1, 6-1 to Ana Exeni at #1 singles and senior Kelley Wood lost 6-2, 6-3 at #3 singles to Wichita State's Genevieve Spink. Jackie Richey posted a 6-0, 6-1 win over Jessica Sampias at #5 singles for the Shockers and Anna Martorell defeated Kathleen Bowen, 6-2, 6-1 at #6 singles for Wichita State.

In doubles action, Montrose and Morris fell 8-4 at #1 doubles to Exeni and Webster. Richey and Spink were also 8-4 winners for Wichita State at #2 doubles over Chan and Wood, while Sampias and Bowen fell 8-3 at #3 doubles to the Shockers' duo of Martorell and Ripoll.

Bradley (5-14 overall, 0-7 MVC) closes out the regular season next weekend on the road. The Braves play at Evansville on Friday at 4 p.m. and at Southern Illinois Saturday at 10 a.m., before returning home to host the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference women's tennis championship April 29-May 1 at the Markin Tennis Courts.
