CARBONDALE, Ill. ? Sophomore Teri Chan claimed her sixth consecutive victory in singles play as she and junior Ashley Morris both earned singles and doubles wins, but the Bradley women's tennis team ended the regular-season with a 4-3 loss at Southern Illinois Saturday afternoon in Carbondale, Ill. The Braves wrapped up the regular-season with a 6-15 overall record and 1-8 Valley mark.

Senior Kelley Wood and Chan helped give the Braves an early 1-0 lead as the duo earned an 8-3 win against Zoya Honarmand and Laura Bredniak at #2 doubles as Bradley won two of three doubles matches to win the point. Sophomore Elise Montrose and junior Ashley Morris earned an 8-6 win at #1 doubles over Maria Blanco and Zuzana Palovic in the Braves other doubles victory.

Playing at #3 singles for just the second time this spring, Chan won her sixth consecutive singles match with a 6-4, 6-1 win against Honarmand at #3 singles. Chan finished conference play with a team-best 5-4 singles record, which included a 2-0 mark at #3 singles. Morris also earned a win in singles action as she was a 6-4, 6-2 winner over Amanda Taillefer at #2 singles.

Southern Illinois took four of the singles matches to claim the 4-3 victory. Montrose fell 6-3, 6-1 at #1 singles to Maria Blanco and Wood dropped a 6-1, 6-2 decision to Palovic at #4 singles. Freshman Jessica Sampias was downed 6-1, 6-1 at #5 singles by Laura Bredniak and Katie Bowen lost 6-3, 6-0 at #6 singles to Joanna Harnestam.

The Braves will play host to the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Women's Tennis Championship next weekend at the Markin Tennis Courts. Seedings and match times for the tournament will be announced following the conclusion of the regular-season on Sunday. Tournament play begins Friday morning at 9 a.m. at both the Markin Tennis Courts and Laura Bradley Park Tennis Courts.
