PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley track and field team wrapped up a busy weekend competing in events at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, and the Redbird Invitational in Normal, Ill., Saturday.

Freshman Niobra Peterson and Rachel Redenius teamed with sophomore Sarah Westrick and senior Tiffany Mack in the 1600 sprint medley and finished 17th overall with a time of 4:07.19 to round out Bradley's participation at the historic Drake Relays.

Closer to home a larger Bradley contingent ran at the Redbird Invitational in Normal, Ill., Saturday. Several season-bests were set at the event, including senior Sarah McKay's performance in the shot put. McKay finished eighth in the shot with a season-best toss of 12.88 meters (42-03.25), while also finishing third in the javelin with a throw of 34.94 meters (114-07).

Fellow Senior Jackee Brannan had a pair of top 10 finishes, taking fifth in the shot put with a throw of 13.66 meters (44-09.75) and also capturing sixth place in the hammer throw with a heave of 47.66 meters (156-04). Kim Martin also turned in a season-best in the shot put with a throw of 12.26 meters (40-02.75) to place 10th.

Freshman Julia Schurr clocked a season-best time of 1:02.52 to finish 11th in the 400 meter dash. Fellow freshman Ainslie Schultz placed fifth overall in the women's 5,000 meters with a time of 18:28.00, running the event for the first time this season.

Bradley returns to action May 13-15 at the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
