CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- Senior Jackee Brannan broke her own school-record in the shot put and finished seventh in the event to highlight the final day of action for the Bradley Track and Field team at the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championship.
Brannan finished seventh in the shot put with a throw of 13.96 meters (45'-09.75”) to break her own school record in the event. Brannan finished .08 meters behind sixth place finisher Keisha Walkes of SMS, surpassing her previous school record of 13.75 meters (45-01.50).

Senior Sarah McKay also turned in a career best performance in the shot put, placing 11th, with a heave of 12.92 meters (42'-04.75”), while sophomore Kim Martin had a season-best throw in the shot put, clearing 12.91 meters (42-04.25) to finish 13th.
The Braves had three individuals compete in the 1,500-meter run. Sophomore Sarah Westrick was Bradley's top finisher, placing 11th with a time of 4:54.20. Freshman Bekah Aavang finished on Westrick's heels, clocking a 4:57.10 to finish 12th and sophomore Marcia Backstrom ran a season-best 5:10.04 to finish 16th overall.
Bradley concluded action at the State Farm Valley Outdoor Championship with an eighth place finish in the 4x400 meter relay. Westrick teamed with senior Tiffany Mack, sophomore Maya Monitto-Webber and freshman Rachel Redenius to clock a 4:02.59 to place eighth.
Wichita State won the team title with a total of 173 points. Southern Illinois was second at 148, with Southwest Missouri State following in third place at 140. Illinois State finished fourth with 103 points, while Indiana State (36), Northern Iowa (33), Drake (16) and Bradley (1) rounded out the eight-team field, respectively.
