Jacqueline Vitale Signs With Bradley Softball

PEORIA, Ill. -- Jacqueline Vitale (Indian Head Park, Ill./Lyons Township H.S.) has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Bradley and will join the Bradley Softball team this fall.

A three-year starter at catcher at Lyons Township High School, Jacqueline hit .434 this spring as she helped the Lions to the Sectional Championship game. Named as one of the Chicago Sun-Times Top 100 players as a senior, she was the team captain and earned All-West Suburban Conference honors for the third consecutive year.

A three-time all-area pick, she hit three home runs as a senior while driving in 23 runs and boasting a .686 slugging percentage. Vitale will participate in the Super 60 Classic All Star game later this month.

She had a 13-game hitting streak this spring and threw out 19 base runners while posting a .991 fielding percentage. A three-time academic all-conference selection, she earned team MVP honors and has qualified for the IHSA Hitting Derby which will be held June 10 in East Peoria, Ill.

Jacqueline also lettered in volleyball all four seasons at Lyons Township, earning the Team Award as a senior, in addition to earning two letters in basketball.

Vitale is the seventh recruit to sign with the softball team and will join Alycia Bachkora, Emily Bergeson, Ashley Birdsong, Brooke Boliver, Katy Dammer and Kelly Ebner in the 2005-06 freshman class.
