PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley women's golf team had five current and former players finish among the top 12 at the Alberta Ladies Amateur played at the Wolf Creek Golf Course in Ponoka, Alberta. Former Bradley standout Jil Swenson finished second, while senior Meaghan LeBlanc shot a tournament-low 67 during Thursday's final round to move into third place in the final standings.
Swenson, an All-MVC performer in 2002, won the event in 2000 and tied LeBlanc for fourth place at last year's tournament. Adrienne White, a sophomore on the women's golf team at Louisville, claimed medalist honors with an 11-over par 291 to claim her second consecutive Alberta Ladies Amateur. Swenson shot a 75 in Thursday's final round to finish three shots behind White in second place with a four-round 294.
LeBlanc's three-under par 67 in the final round was a course record and moved her into third place in the final standings, one shot behind Swenson at 295. Wisconsin senior Lindsay McMillan finished fourth overall at 299.
Incoming freshman Bari-Lynn Erais tied for fifth place at 308 after firing a 75 Thursday. Erais won the Alberta Junior Girls Championship earlier this month and will play in the Canadian Junior Girls Championship in August.
Sophomore Whitney Cox carded a 74 during the final day of play to move into 10th place at 319, while junior transfer Charlotte McGinnis tied for 12th place overall at 321.
