PEORIA, Ill. -- Three-time first-team All-MVC golfer Meaghan LeBlanc (Calgary, Alberta/Western Canada) won the Calgary Ladies Amateur Championship June 21-23 at the Pinebrook Golf and Country Club.
LeBlanc edged Candace Pasechnik and Nicole Wyne by two strokes with a three-rounds 225 to win the Calgary Ladies Amateur Championship for the second time in three years after also winning the title in 2003. LeBlanc carded rounds of 77, 74 and 74, respectively to finish two shots ahead of both Pasechnik and Wyne, who tied for second at 227. Wisconsin senior Lindsay McMillan, the 2004 Calgary Ladies Amateur Champion, finished fourth at 229.
LeBlanc is one of four current Braves that will take part in the Alberta Ladies Amateur Championship, July 18-21 at the Wolf Creek Golf Course in Ponoka, Alberta. She will be joined by sophomore Whitney Cox (Edmonton, Alberta/Harry Ainlay), incoming freshman Beri-Lynn Erias (Lethbridge, Alberta) and junior transfer Charlotte McGinnis (Edmonton, Alberta/Boise State). Former Bradley standout Jil Swenson will also be in the tournament field. Swenson and LeBlanc tied for fourth place last year at the Alberta Ladies Amateur Championship in 2004.
