PEORIA, Ill. --  The four-overtime classic game between Bradley and Creighton for the 2000 Missouri Valley Conference men's soccer championship has been pulled out of the archives and will be used in the background of a segment of the popular FOX sitcom Arrested Development scheduled to air Sept. 26.

The producers of the show originally planned to use footage from an English Premier League game in the background of several scenes taking place in a pub, but legal issues prevented their use of the footage.  The association between the Missouri Valley Conference office and the Fox Sports Network led to the use of the 2000 MVC Tournament championship game, which was the first men's soccer game televised by the MVC-TV network.

The 2000 championship was played Nov. 12 at the Sportport Complex in the St. Louis suburb of Maryland Heights, Mo. and resulted in the longest game in the history of the league and both competing programs.  Although Bradley took a 1-0 lead in the 49th minute on a goal by Matt Horner, the 11th-ranked Bluejays forged a 1-1 tie in the 67th minute on the first of two goals by Brian Mullan.  Deadlocked at 1-1 through 90 minutes of regulation play, then NCAA postseason rules called for the teams to play a maximum of four, 15-minute sudden-death overtime periods.  Creighton ultimately earned the 2-1 victory when Mullan scored again with less than four minutes remaining in the fourth overtime at 140:48.

Bradley, which dealt the Bluejays a 4-1 defeat during a regular-season meeting in Peoria, lost All-American forward Gavin Glinton to a hamstring injury midway through the first half, then played the final 35 minutes with just 10 players after defender Tim Regan was issued a red card in the 96th minute.

Although Creighton earned the Valley's automatic berth in the 2000 NCAA Tournament, the Braves gained their first-ever invitation to the NCAA Tournament and finished the season with a program-record 15 victories (15-7-2).
