LeBlanc Tied For Fifth, Braves Tied For Fourth After Day One

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- Senior Meaghan LeBlanc is tied for fifth place and the Bradley Women's Golf Team is tied for fourth after two rounds of play at the Minnesota Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn. LeBlanc is one of three Braves in the top 17 in the standings after 36 holes in the 84-person field. 

Bradley is tied with Missouri Valley Conference rival Southern Illinois for fourth place with a two-round total of 629, 13 shots behind team-leader Montana. Tournament host Minnesota is in second place, four shots behind Montana, with the Minnesota Gold team in third at 624, eight shots behind first place.  For complete results from the first day, click on the pdf link at the bottom of the page.

LeBlanc shot rounds of 79 and 75 to finish the day at 154 and is three shots behind co-leaders Sophie Stubbs (Minnesota) and Jasi Acharya (Montana) in a three-way tie for fifth place. Junior Charlotte McGinnis is three shots behind LeBlanc in a four-way tie for 13th at 157 after firing rounds of 76 and 81. Sophomore Whitney Cox is also in the top 20, in a three-way tie for 17th after shooting a pair of 79s to finish the day at 158.

Rikki Sobel carded a 76 in the opening round and shot 86 this afternoon to finish the day tied for 38th at 162. Freshman Bari-Lynn Erais rounded things out for the Braves tied for 46th at 164, after shooting 80 and 84 during first day action.

The Braves and Salukis hold an eight shot lead on conference foe Northern Iowa, which is sixth at 637. Missouri State is seventh at 639, while North Dakota and North Dakota State are tied for eighth place 644. South Dakota sits in 10th place at 646, with Creighton (11th - 657), Eastern Washington and Gustavus Adolphus (T12 - 658) and UMKC (14th - 692) completing the field, respectively.

Bradley completes competition at the Minnesota Invitational Sunday with one round of play.
