Women?s Golf Takes Fifth At Minnesota Invitational

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- Sophomore Whitney Cox tied for 17th and freshman Bari-Lynn Erais shot low round of the day for the Braves, carding a 76 to finish tied for 27th as the Bradley Women's Golf Team finished fifth of 14 teams at the Minnesota Invitational, Sunday.

The Braves were forced to play without three-time all-conference performer Meaghan LeBlanc, who was forced to withdraw prior to Sunday's round of play due to medical reasons. Despite having just four individuals during the final round, Bradley shaved two shots off the team's second round score of 319 to shoot 317 this afternoon.  Please click on the pdf link at the bottom of the page to view the final statistics from the Minnesota Invitational.

Cox was the Braves top individual finisher, firing a season-low 78 to finish the day tied for 17th at 236 (79-79-78). Erais saved her best round of the tournament for last, shooting a team-best 76 in the final round to finish at 240 (80-84-76) to tie for 27th place.

Sophomore Rikki Sobel carded a 79 to tie for 31st at 241 (76-86-79), while junior Charlotte McGinnis also tied for 31st place after shooting an 84 during Sunday's action to finish at 241 (76-81-84).

Minnesota Gold took the team title with a three round score of 923 (303-321-299). Minnesota also took a share of second place with a second team finishing six shots back at 929 (311-309-309). Montana tied Minnesota for second place at 929, while Missouri Valley Conference rival Southern Illinois was four shots better than Bradley in fourth place at 942.

Valley foes Northern Iowa (6th - 954) and Missouri State (7th - 962) followed the Braves, with North Dakota State (8th - 967), Creighton (9th - 970), North Dakota and Eastern Washington (T10th - 971) rounding out the top 10. South Dakota State (12th - 979), Gustavus Adolphus (13th - 994) and UMKC (14th - 1021) completed the field, respectively.

Bradley returns to action October 1 and 2 at the Michigan Invitational in Ann Arbor, Mich.
