PEORIA, Ill. -- Sixth-year Bradley women's basketball head coach Paula Buscher and the Braves will be hosting the third annual Hoops for the Cure event on Saturday, February 4 when Bradley plays host to Evansville at 2:05 p.m. at Robertson Memorial Field House.
"Our team is proud to take part in an event like this," Buscher said. "Not only is this a great opportunity to raise money for such a worthy cause, but it provides a chance to increase everyone's awareness of such an important issue. We have had great success the past two years and we are very thankful that the people of Peoria have helped make it such a great event."
Bradley Athletics will donate half of the game's ticket revenue to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. In addition, coach Buscher will once again be extending a Coaches Challenge. Buscher has pledged $25 to the Komen Foundation for every Bradley three-point basket made against the Purple Aces and invites others to take part in the Coaches Challenge.
Last season, the Braves raised over $8200 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, with most of the proceeds coming from the Coaches Challenge. Bradley has helped raise nearly $18,000 during the previous two events and have set a goal of $9,500 this season.
